WARRICK McDONALD
PADI COURSE DIRECTOR

Beginning as a spearfisherman, I became 'hooked' on SCUBA diving in 1961. It became a lifelong passion that turned into my career in 1965 and continues to provide me with a lifestyle that many envy. I first started teaching in 1972, joined PADI, and over the years went through many courses and taught thousands of students. I became a Course Director in 1989, which enables me to teach Instructors what I have learned by following the PADI system. As the Managing Director of AB Ocean Divers I can now pass on my knowledge to my staff and share the enthusiasm I have for the sport with everyone. My involvement in the Dive Industry has enabled me to hold many positions, other than as a trainer, such as President Of Dive Australia for 5 years, Past President of the Victorian Dive Association for 6 years, Current member of Standards Australia sub-committee on Entry Level Recreational SCUBA Diving, current National Director of the Cave Divers Association of Australia, current committee member of the Landowners Advisory Group of SA and I have also acted as an adviser for Government Departments such as Conservation, Fisheries, Police and the State Coroner. At AB Ocean Divers I not only oversee the day to day operations but I also skipper our Charter boat 'Ocean Diver'. My passion is Cave Diving and this has led to caves all around the world.
